A video tribute for Liesel and Max from the movie The Book Thief. What I love about these two is their brother/sister relationship. Max was always there for Liesel, encouraging her to read and write, and Liesel in turn brightened Max's endless days in the basement by bringing him snow, telling him about the day, etc. Max also gave Liesel a new perspective on life and taught her about the importance of words.

There has been much debate about whether or not Liesel married Max or some unnamed fellow. The narrator, Death, does not tell us in either the book or the movie who she marries, and it is left up to the reader/movie watcher to decide for themselves whether she marries Max or not. Who do you think she married? Did you see Max as a romantic interest or as a brother figure? Let me know what you think in the comment box!
